While I was meditating on what topic to write about to talk with you and transform your life "You are fooling yourself; not God" came into my mind. I know you'll be saying, "is he talking from experience?" Emphatically yes. I am talking from experience.

Luke 8 v. 17 says, "For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open."

When you think you can go seek for help from the mediums and all other Satan's associates believing that no-one sees you, remember that "you are fooling yourself, and not God." When you cheat on your spouse and you think no-one sees you, remember this that "you are only fooling yourself, but not God." When you, as a Pastor, Minister of the Word, or whatsoever position you might occupied in the household of God thought you can add one plus one to equal two so as to gain membership to your own advantage, and glory; remember "you are not fooling God but, yourself."

When you go out all the way to truncate someone's destiny because you want to have upper hand over such person and thinking that no-one would ever know you are the one behind that person's miserableness, be reminded that "you are fooling yourself and not God." When you decided to take a pound of flesh that was so brutal on that brother or sister; thereby denying him access to a better life or future in the process, let this word ring in your ears that "you are only fooling yourself, but not God."

The above quoted Bible passage says, "For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open."

Whatsoever that gives you the impression that you can will go scot-free, and that you can do all you are doing without any repercussion at a later date is just a mere fallacy. Why, in the first instance, do you think denying that person a deserved promotion or progress will make you a hero of some sort without recourse to the aftermath punishment? What gives you the impression that you can hide under one finger without being discovered with that atrocities you are committing or have committed against God through that brother or sister? Let me be frank with you by saying that "you are fooling yourself, but not God."

I want you to study the books of 1st Kings chapter 21; 2nd Samuel chapter 11 and 12  very well to understand why God is talking to you this way today. Ahab and Jezebel thought they are fooling God by plotting against Naboth and his inheritance when they decided to eliminate him through their evil plot, but not knowing that they are fooling each other and not God. When Jezebel and Ahab thought they have gotten rid of Naboth in the secret, according to their evil plans, God found them out and revealed Himself to the two of them in verses 17 to 20 of 1st Kings 21 as follow: "17 Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite: 18 “Go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who rules in Samaria. He is now in Naboth’s vineyard, where he has gone to take possession of it. 19 Say to him, ‘This is what the Lord says: Have you not murdered a man and seized his property?’ Then say to him, ‘This is what the Lord says: In the place where dogs licked up Naboth’s blood, dogs will lick up your blood—yes, yours!’” 20 Ahab said to Elijah, “So you have found me, my enemy!” “I have found you,” he answered, “because you have sold yourself to do evil in the eyes of the Lord."

Listen to what Ahab said in the above underlined word as thus: "Ahab said to Elijah, “So you have found me, my enemy!” “I have found you,” he answered, “because you have sold yourself to do evil in the eyes of the Lord."

Whenever you sold yourself to do wickedly in the secret note that "you are only fooling yourself but, not God" as Ahab and Jezebel did and was discovered and revealed. The evil you plot against that person will soon be uncovered in a way you won't be able to explain as it happened to Ahab. You can't continue to fool yourself and be thinking you are fooling God through that evil ways, thoughts, actions, and deeds of yours; you will soon be discovered and revealed.

In the case of King David, he thought he was so clever even than God while he was plotting Uriah in so many different ways to cover up his evil acts, but not knowing that he was only fooling himself in the process as written in verses 1 to 7 of 2nd Samuel chapter 12 thus: "The Lord sent Nathan to David. When he came to him, he said, “There were two men in a certain town, one rich and the other poor.2 The rich man had a very large number of sheep and cattle, 3 but the poor man had nothing except one little ewe lamb he had bought. He raised it, and it grew up with him and his children. It shared his food, drank from his cup and even slept in his arms. It was like a daughter to him. 4 “Now a traveler came to the rich man, but the rich man refrained from taking one of his own sheep or cattle to prepare a meal for the traveler who had come to him. Instead, he took the ewe lamb that belonged to the poor man and prepared it for the one who had come to him.” 5 David burned with anger against the man and said to Nathan, “As surely as the Lord lives, the man who did this must die! 6 He must pay for that lamb four times over, because he did such a thing and had no pity.” 7 Then Nathan said to David, “You are the man! ..."

Notice also the underlined words in the above quoted passages, you'll come to the understanding of what St. Luke 8 v. 17 is saying clearly about you being a fool when you thought you are making God a fool through your evil thoughts, words, actions and deeds. King David even tried everything possible to conceal his evil deed to the extent of getting Uriah killed after taking his wife by virtues of his position, went ahead sleeping with her, and then put her in the family way; and by so doing, thinking that he was fooling God but, not knowing he was fooling himself.

Note that whatsoever you are doing contrarily to the will of God only makes you a fool and not God. Whatsoever evil you are doing to deny others what will glorify God through them because of your own selfish reason or reasons is or are only making you a fool, and not God. Denying others joy, fulfillment, success, greatness, prosperity, and all other things that could make them glorify God in their lives when you know they are entitled to such is only symbolizing how foolish you are but, not God.

Listen to this following Bible references:

Proverbs 26 v. 26 says, "Though his hatred covers itself with guile, His wickedness will be revealed before the assembly."

Matthew 10 v. 26 says, "So do not be afraid of them. For nothing is concealed that will not be uncovered, or hidden that will not be made known."

Ecclesiastes 12 v. 14 says, "For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil."

Now, ask yourself this simple question as follow: "Whom do I think I am fooling for doing evil against that person?" "Whom do I think I am fooling for denying that person success, promotion, progress or a fulfilled destiny?" "Whom do I think I am fooling by lying against that person to get rid of him or her for you to have your ways?"

Before doing that which is right before you, think about this, and make amend where necessary as Ahab did in verses 17 to 19 of 1st Kings 21 as follow: "27 When Ahab heard these words, he tore his clothes, put on sackcloth and fasted. He lay in sackcloth and went around meekly28 Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite: 29 “Have you noticed how Ahab has humbled himself before me? Because he has humbled himself, I will not bring this disaster in his day, but I will bring it on his house in the days of his son.”

Also take a queue from David as written in verses 13 and 14 as follow: "13 Then David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.” Nathan replied, “The Lord has taken away your sin. You are not going to die. 14 But because by doing this you have shown utter contempt for[a]the Lord, the son born to you will die.”

Repent and change your attitude of thinking that you are fooling God in all your dealings both in the secret and in the open. Stop fooling yourself before God makes a fool of you!

If you are blessed through this piece, please endeavor to let others benefit therein as well.
